Five minutes with a phone is enough. These habits make the estimate more exact and save a round of questions.
- Use daylightTurn off lamps and shoot near a window. Warm bulbs shift the color, and color is often what we are pricing.
- One close, one wideA close-up shows the depth of the damage; a shot of the whole piece shows where it is and how big the job is.
- Get the textureHold the phone at a slight angle to the leather so cracks, scratches and peeling throw a shadow.
- Show every spotIf there is wear in more than one place, photograph each one. A price only covers what we can see.
- Add the label if you have itA maker's tag under a cushion or the seat often names the leather type, which changes the method.
