Questions

Reupholstery Cost FAQ

What owners ask before paying for reupholstery.

How much does reupholstery cost in New Jersey?

Typical ranges, material included: a dining chair seat $75 to $225, an armchair $700 to $2,800, a three-seat sofa $1,400 to $6,000 and a sectional $2,200 to $9,000. Leather sits at the top of each range.

Is the material included in the price?

Yes. Every range on this page includes the fabric, vinyl or leather as well as the labor.

Is it cheaper to reupholster or buy new?

For a solid frame, reupholstery is often the better value, especially for a well-built sofa or a piece you want to keep. For a cheaply built piece, buying new can make more sense, and we will tell you.

Do I need reupholstery or just color restoration?

If the leather is sound but faded or scuffed, color restoration costs far less: $350 to $650 for a three-seat sofa. Reupholstery is for covers that are torn through, cracked deep or peeling.

Is there a minimum charge?

The smallest job is $125, even for a single seat.
